The Hotel Monte Carlo was built brand new in 2000. Located oceanside at 3rd Street. We are locatd just steps away from the fun of the Ocean City boardwalk and atlantic surf. Go for a dip in our sparkling rooftop pool. Soak up the warm Ocean City sun in a relaxing lounger on our scenic rooftop sundeck. Relax under the stars in our rooftop hot tub. Escape the cold or rainy days in our smaller sized heated indoor pool. Enjoy a work out in our cardio fitness room. Go for a bite at the Subway restaurant located on the ground floor of our hotel. Also located nearby the Hotel Monte Carlo are The Downtown Skate Park, Assateque Island National Seashore, Outlet Shopping, Night Clubs, Restaurants, Mini Golf, Arcades, Amusements, Waterpark, Water Sports, Fishing, Convention Center, and City Bus Stop.

Our arrival was delayed due to a storm. I called the hotel to confirm our arrival and they assured us they were waiting for us. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The maid service was fine and the rooms were clean and appeared newly updated. The beds were comfortable. All appliances appeared new and were in working order. Soap and shampoo were refurbished each day as was the coffee, all at no charge. The rooftop pool was clean and fairy large in size as was the sundeck. Vending machines were conveniently located. The lobby was small, the elevator was large. A Subway restaurant was attached to the hotel and you could smell the baking bread in the lobby, but not in our room. Location and price was the deciding factor in booking this hotel as it was only 1/2 block from the boardwalk, beach, and the DoughRoller Restaurant. On-site parking was limited, but parking was provided across the street at 2 different locations. Private balcony was nice but had a view of a parking lot--but the hotel doesn't advertise as having an ocean-front view.

1. hotel parking
The hotel has less than 10 on-site parking spaces. More parking is available few blocks away! Who wants to walk few blocks for a hotel parking after a long tiring trip?
2. Cleanliness
Bed sheets had blood stains, some kind of brown stains(I don't even want to know what they were!). I seriously doubt that they change their sheets after each guests! My husband ended up going to the front desk asking for a clean sheet.
House keeping didn't even clean the hair out of the tub during our stay.
3. Front Desk Responsiveness
After booking our reservations with 1/3 deposit paid, I asked for an e-mail confirmation. Never received it(yes, I DID check my Spam Box!) 2 days later, I called & asked for it again. Never got it. Few more day later, I asked for it again. Never got it. They claimed that they sent it in the mail 3 different times. Finally, I ask for them to fax it. Their fax/credit card machine was not working at the time. I finally received the mailed confirmation 1 day prior to my check-in date, which had details about the parking & other important information that would have been useful to determine whether to cancel or keep the reservations. However, it was too late to cancel without a penalty!
4. Ice Machine
Never worked the whole time we were there! When we asked about it at the front desk, we were told that other people must have beat us to it, & that it is out of ice. Few day later, when we asked about it again, we were told that it maybe broken. When I asked them when they were going to fix it, the front desk personnel said it wasn't her responsibility. When I asked whose responsibility it was, she said the maitenance people were not there! Basically, the hotel had no intention of fixing it at all! Our room was located 1 door away from the ice machine, so I know for certain that I would have heard the ice despensing noise through the cheasy thin walls of this dump!

Just returned from Ocean City this past memorial day weekend. We had a great time. Great atmosphere and very clean hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and helped us get the most out of our vacation.
