Hotel Milano is centrally located in the downtown area, and is next to San Francisco Shopping Center, and Nordstrom. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from Moscone Convention Center, Union Square, and the Cable Car Turn-around. The rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean although there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The restaurant wasn't open at all when I was there, so therefore there was no room service either, which could be a problem for some people - it's worth checking the restaurant opening times directly with the hotel. There are some nice cafes nearby for breakfast and many restaurants for lunch and dinner within walking distance. There's a good fitness center, with exercise and cardiovascular equipment, steam, sauna, and spa tub. The staff are helpful and friendly. The location really makes this hotel, and if you are looking for somewhere quiet and comfortable and you don't mind eating out, then it's great.

Okay
I am in the entertainment industry, and haunt hotels at least 4-5 days per week. When I visit accounts in the SF area, I generally will stay inside the city and cab it so I do not have to be stressed with traffic. A friend suggested the Milano, and...
Our room was a plain old hotel room, not a "junior suite" as advertised. It was extremely average, and for the money in SF, stay somewhere else.

Good
Growing up, my little brother was always looking for the best pool he could find. Now, a veteran of business travel, I've come to appreciate a good pool and hot tub. To others who feel the same, I'd like to recommend the Hotel Milano.

Excellent
Milano was EXCELLENT for those in the corporate business looking to impress clients. They offered internet access, which is a great plus, and the service was excellent. I've read a few of the reviews here complaining about the service...sorry...
