I stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Le St. James while visiting Montreal during the Grand Prix weekend that just passed. The style of the hotel is very art-deco and reminiscent of older days. However, the inside and the rooms are very well kept. I was very happy with the service that I recieved. In additional to the basics such as around-the-clock service, there was also shoe shine and newspaper that were gratis. The highlight of my stay was the spa. Spa St-James was quite a memorable and relaxing experience and is by far the top spas that I've visited in my time. The hotel also offers a fleet of luxury cars available for rent, including a Rolls Royce Phantom, which my husband took advantage of. It was definitely a wonderful experience!

I stayed there with my husband early march for a nice week-end break.
It was, by far, the best hotel experience in Canada, only commensurate to palaces like the Bristol in Paris or the Oriental in Bangkok. Their service was perfect. The new restaurant deserves to have more sophisticated menus, but overall it is much better than any hotel restaurant in Montréal.
The location is great, in the heart of Old Montréal, it has a nice European feel in the small streets, amazing art galleries (luxury French-inspired furniture at Esthete shop for a fraction of what it would cost in NYC, just in front of the hotel), and some interesting cafés.
