The hotel staff all spoke English, they were very friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms are excellent, spacious and clean, with most having a small tropical garden patio. The chef at the hotel restaurant was excellent a definite must visit dining location. The location was only four blocks from the office, making walking to and from the office easy and enjoyable. It is about one mile from downtown San Jose and it is an easy walk to get downtown to see the sights. I would definitely recommend this hotel unless you have to have a workout room or pool, which the hotel did not have. The service was as good as I have had in most four star hotels.

This hotel made me feel content: The hotel is in a quiet location in the same general neighborhood as many embassies, which meant that there was enough security that crime was not a concern. The staff took pains to make sure that my needs were met and even exceeded, and not just that, but they took time to answer my questions and make me feel as much at home as possible when staying in a hotel. The ambiance created by the tropical plant life and the fountain in the restaurant and the patio area also lent a sense of tranquility to the stay.

We used Hotel Le Bergerac as our home base during our travels around Costa Rica. They will happily store luggage for you, if needed. My family and I stayed in room 9, it offers two queen beds, a walk-in closet, a private safe, cable TV, telephone, a huge spotless bathroom with double sinks, a lovely private garden patio overlooking the nearby mountains, ceiling fans, double patio doors, wood floor and an excellent staff always willing to help.

The French restaurant downstairs is a little stuffy (long pants required) but the food is pretty good, and they offer room service if desired. I can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. They were always helpful, courteous and friendly.
