male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
This is a modern hotel in the western part of Hong Kong Island. Stayed there in May 2008 for 4 days. Rooms are very clean and modern, but somewhat small, and staff was very friendly. Paid about $80 per night.
One potential downside of this hotel for some travelers is the location. This hotel is about a 20 minute walk or 15 minute streetcar ride beyond the westernmost subway station (Sheung Wan) on Hong Kong Island. One of the closest hotels to Hong Kong University. The hotel is in Shek Tong Tsui, a nice formerly mostly Chiuchow neighborhood in Sai Wan. Many small restaurants, shops, very few tourists. Off the beaten track. I like this area a lot, but it is not the most convenient base if you want to go and explore places all over Hong Kong. Unfortunately no free internet.
Also, compare to Island Pacific, which is nearby but slightly closer to the subway station, and similar in quality and price.
