39 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I loved the way the staff was so attentive to the needs of my daughter and me. They went beyond what they were expected to do to assure our comfort. I will definitely stay there next time.
The staff was always there to make sure we had everything we needed. The location was very suitable to our plans. The furnishings were upgraded and new.
I am very likely
to return to the Hotel Griffon.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Room was so small, "We had to go outside to change our mind!" I put my garment bag in the closet and there was no room for anything else! Wife's suitcase stayed on the floor.

Even though the rooms have exposed brick, they are very light and airy (Art Deco/European), which I love. The rooms are rather small, but if you're on vacation or working, I suppose you're not going to be in them much. The beds are quite comfortable and the toiletries are better than average. If you're into views, you might want to opt to pay a bit more to get a room with views of the Bay, which are sights to take in of their own.
There is not in-house gym, but there is a gym nearby if it's important to you. There is the pain of parking, which is around $25 a day, but I think that if you go without a car you'll be fine since there is a cable car about 2 blocks away and many stores, restaurants and nightlife within a comfortable walking distance.
We stayed at the hotel recently for one night. We requested a room with a view, king size bed, but instead got one by the elevator, on the second. We requested a different room and we were transferred to the same spot, but 2 floors up, on the 4th...
The service was disappointing in general, and the restaurant, Donno Rosso, was completely unacceptable. Dinner was understaffed, and, after a considerable wait, received our food BEFORE we received napkins and silverware. AND, when we finally did,...
