I'm a 54 year old healthy American woman who traveled to Paris from Germany where I was visiting my two adult sons. My brother, two sons and I went to Paris for the weekend, and I had booked this hotel over the internet before we left. We had two double rooms that were adequate, at best. If this is a three star hotel, I'm the queen of Romania.
The two twin beds in each room were small and uncomfortable. The towels were like tissue paper and there was no soap for bathing other than some nasty viscous liquid in dispensers in the bathroom. You could ask for a hair dryer which was kept at the front desk, but you better be quick with it because we were called after 10 minutes to return it because another guest needed it. Okay, I can live with all that, but upon our return to the room after our first night, we were treated like absolute dirt.
When we arrived at the hotel desk at 9:30 p.m., we were asked if there was a problem with one of our beds. We said no, and were then accused of ruining one of the mattresses. To make a long, horrible story short, the manager accused me of wetting the bed of all things, and locked us out of the rooms and would not let us back in until I paid 200 euros for a new mattress! Believe me, no one wet a bed in our rooms. That is so absurd, I was truly astounded. When we checked the beds, we could find nothing, however, the manager literally pulled me out of the room, turned all the mattresses over, locked us out and refused to let us back in. Our passports and all our belongings were in our rooms. He refused to call the police, so I had no choice but to pay the money so we could get our things and get out of there. I have never, ever in my life been treated this way. It was nightmare. We ended up going across the street and luckily, we found a room for the night. This was the worst experience I have ever had and I would sleep in the street before I'd stay here again.
