Not what I Expected
Pluses - The location is very convenient for the sights of Manhattan. The complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres were good. The complimentary continental breakfast was average. Minuses - Not what one would expect for the price. I stayed a week with a group and we had rooms on various floors in the hotel. We looked at each other's rooms. Some were very small, all had extremely small bathrooms, some had no minibar. At least 3 rooms on each floor are next to the elevators and you can hear them at all times. I was surprised the soaps were never changed and they were getting thin by the end of the week. My radiator clanged, banged and gurgled loud enough to wake me a couple of times a night. I reported it and was told, the system is old nothing can be done about it. One of my friends had no heat for 2 nights because it took that long to fix a faulty thermostat. The hotel states they have a concierge service, but when I asked about the harbor tours, I was give a couple of brochures, one dated 2005, that was it. Service was at best mediocre. (Get used to opening the front doors yourself) Even if they cut the price in half, I would not go back.
