I was VERY disappointed in our recent stay. 1st: BEWARE of their 14-day cancellation policy! 2nd: the fireplace did not work, the room was not stocked properly each day, and the NOISE was HORRIBLE. Do not go there for a "quiet night's sleep!" I tried to leave a day early due to the noise, the they refused to credit me for the day, despite two days of complaints. NOT A GOOD VALUE!
I booked for a bday weekend in the city. I loved every bit of it! The room was spotless, the staff was amazing and it was a suite for the price of a regular hotel room. I will definatly be...

I loved it! I booked for a birthday weekend in Providence for my boyfriend. We stayed in a one bedroom. The staff was great, explaining everything and giving us directions to local areas. The room was impressive, all white, modern, and spotless. There was biscotti, popcorn and other items waiting in the room. TV, DVD and cd player, with DVDs to borrow in the lobby. They offer overnight parking, so no worries finding a spot to park! I loved it all! Plus its a suite for the price of a regular hotel room.

Horrible
Federal Hill was a great destination and we saw pictures of the Villa at the Hotel Dolce Villa in DePasquale Plaza. We expected a cozy romantic spot for a getaway but The pictures on the website do not tell the story about the "Authentic...

Good
At first, the entrance was clean, but disarmingly small, but we walked to the right, to the first floor to our room , 3-4 doors down on the left. The room was ALL WHITE, perfectly clean and spacious an unexpected kitchen and seating area were upon...

If you like quiet at night and down to earth people, this is the place for you! The rooms are spacious, modern European artsy! My room had a kitchen, fireplace, and a lovely view of the old city. It was perfect. I was alone just seeing the sites, but I could see how this could be a perfect weekend romantic get away! I was there in March, during the snow storm that hit NYC 07, it was cold, snowing, and I did not get a chance to visit the beach that is within walking distance. The trolley was a great way to get around, and most people were really friendly, however, some need to learn their city a little better before giving advice on the best way to get to places. You can't buy a trolley pass on a Sunday, so don't try! The RI School of Design was a great treat as well as the Kennedy Center ... had I known how to ice skate... lots of people seem to be having a great time! The hotel is next door to several great restaurants and just a block off restaurant row. Rather business or pleasure, this is a real find, and very reasonable!

My husband and I were in Providence for our daughter's graduation and spent six nights at the Dolce Villa, May 2007.
Pro's: Valet parking, good location
Con's: Uncomfortable beds; only ceiling fluorescent lights (a lamp by the bed would be nice to read by); all cool white everything (walls, floors, furniture) so with the ceiling fluorescent lighting, unpleasant and harsh; six nights of a plugged bathroom sink which was never repaired despite notifying the manager the first morning after our arrival and on subsequent days; small windows on an alley with dumpsters (only two rooms face the Plaza); no elevator so carry your own luggage up three flights of stairs; is there a towel shortage? we only received one washcloth; very over-priced.
Bad Service. Did not like my keys hanging on the wall behind the unoccupied front desk. Had to wait for my car while Brad the manager of the hotel was next door talking and eating holding his finger up telling me to wait a minute as I look inside...
