The positive reviews here must have been planted by management. The Derby is located in a seedy area, and the rooms are run down, with lumpy beds. Promised wi-fi internet did not work. To top it off, we had no hot water. When this was reported, the desk person basically said tough luck, we would have to wait for the manager to arrive later. When he did, nothing was done, and they charged our credit card even though we complained of the lousy service.
Me and my gf had spent few nights in Hotel Derby. The location is more than great, everything is really max 10 min walking from the Hotel. The Staff is composed by all locals that knows all the tricks and places you could need even the most remote....
I have red different comments about this hotel on the web, so me and my wife were a bit afraid of what we would have found at the arrival. Bad comments were absolutely unfounded, it is a basic hotel but absolutely quite, clean and comfortable....
