Hotel Colorado

Do not stay at the Hotel Colorado! They charged my credit card before I ever stayed there due to an error (they booked us for the wrong day and charged us for a no-show) and it took months to reconcile -- and this only five months later, through arbitration with my credit card company and the hotel's unwilling HR department. This hotel is run by incompetent, dishonest staff and charges more than the hotel rooms are worth anyway. We did stay there during the resolution process, hoping things would smooth over, and sorely regretted staying -- it was awkward, overpriced, and loud. I share this with other travelers so they do not repeat the mistake we did -- do not stay at this hotel. Stay anywhere else!

We stayed at this hotel in late August, 2007.

Back in 1900, if it was hot outside, it was hot inside. More than a hundred years later at the Hotel Colorado, still without air conditioning, not much has changed. If it's hot outside, it will be hot inside.

The hotel is quite close to I76 and a main transcontinental rail line, so open windows make for a noisy night.

The staff was slow to clean up debris from room service that was left in the hall.

Too much money for historic charm.

This place was absolutely wonderful! They are very historical and it definitely brought me back to the old days, ha. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff, excellent dining. The staff seemed to go out of their way for many of the guests. The only problem we had while staying here was that we had a lightbulb burn out and it ended up taking quite a while to get maintinence upstairs. The parking was hard to find as well. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience. Close to the nightlife, close to downtown and plenty of restaurant and shopping options. If you're an outdoors person, this is the place to be as they have trails to hike, bike rental shops, and rafting all very nearby. We never had to drive anywhere as everything was so close, and they also have a bellman on duty who will pick you up, and drop you off around town. I will definitely return.
