I booked my stay online with The Hotel Chelsea. We were supposed to have shuttle service to and from the airport., but the shuttle never showed up. Throughout our stay we never saw a shuttle. When we asked to arrange service back to the airport, one of the employees finally admitted that the shuttle doesn't actually come to the Chelsea and that I would not be able to arrange shuttle service. We spent almost $100 in taxis!
The entire hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. The rooms were tiny, dark (literally one little lamp) and the shades and telephone were broken. For the duration of our stay, housekeeping cleaned our room only once.
The website also boasts "free drinks every night from 7pm to 8pm." On the first night, we were charged $11 a drink. On Sunday, the bar was not even open.
Finally, on top of a surprise resort fee, we were charged an increased room rate! The woman I contacted at the hotel even created a fake reservation email which she said was sent to me and included disclaimer information on the fees and shuttle! She then refused to remove the fee or reimburse for the taxi rides.
I would never again stay at this hotel and would discourage anyone thinking about staying here.
