Hotel Biba is a 43-room historic landmark boutique hotel. One of the area's finest examples of Bermuda vernacular architecture, the hotel was originally designed by renowned architect Belford Shoumate. Among the first motor lodges built in the United States, the property was creatively redesigned by avant garde Miami designer Barbara Hulanicki and landscape architect Donald Mrakami. If you want to stay in a typical hotel that makes you feel like you're in your living room don't come here.
This is an old hotel that has been redone. The rooms are small so the furniture is minimal. This didn't bother me. I wanted to stay someplace different than the usual chain hotel and I absolutely got it.
Again, the room is small but decorated extremely well. The walls and even the ceiling are painted bright colors. The linens are crisp white and the furniture is modern. The small bathroom has new lavender tile, a pedestal sink and a big mirror.
It was perfectly clean. The best thing was the amazing landscaping. There are little gardens between the buildings and they are separated by huge ficus "walls." The bar is cool, small and colorful, and there are a few tables outside.
My husband and I found plenty of good places to eat and it is close to an upscale outdoor mall (City something?) with a movie theater etc.
The staff was very attentive and the rates were very reasonable. We can't wait to come back!

Mediocre
This hotel was a trip to stay in. I felt like I had stepped back in time about 40 years. Everything was old and poorly maintained. They offered alot of supportive amenities to elderly patrons, but this place needs a facelift and more.

Excellent
We had not been back to Hotel Biba for about 5 years. Having just returned from Florida, I must say that the I am thankful that the Biba has not changed. It is a funky, hip, modern small hotel that is close to the water ( a few blocks to the...

The hotel is alright, but could definitely benefit by being more
accommodating to the guests. The fact that there are no bureaus in the room is slightly ridiculous. I completely understand the "groovy" theme they are going for, but with closets from Marcia Brady's bedroom how is a guest supposed to keep their room clean . Also had an issue with type of bed in room. A fair experience. Don't really know if it is worth recommending.

I have stayed at some pretty awful hotels, but this was the worst!
I bought this on an auction site, so it was prepaid or I would have checked out. It was very dirty and there was not a single drawer to place your things in, just wood blocks! No carpet, a dirty linoleum floor, and a tiny room! The closet has beads and they will not move out of way to place your clothes and very tiny closet, you will be living out of your suitcase!
The hippy crowd hangs out at night and very loud yelling partying in he parking lot, we could not sleep! They have bad blinds, you can see in. There was a small dirty bathroom that was tiny and dirty. The bed has a plastic headboard and you can imagine what this has on it (stains?) It is in south Florida and its very hot and they have no light blankets on the bed, only a heavy, huge, hot comforter, this is meant for Alaska weather! Theres no refrigerator in the room, we kept getting broken items when made requests at desk ( hairdryer, iron).
But on the plus side, they had a very nice person at the desk, very helpful!

I used the bar and found it to be extremely chic, and I loved the jazz-style atmosphere. They had live jazz music, and the bartender and band were very friendly and accommodating. I really liked my room and the decor, it was very mod. I especially l
