33 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
We stayed at the hotel Belleclaire Jan 15th for 4 nights in a standard king room ensuite. For a short trip to New York we didn't expect to spend much time in the room but it had everything we needed. The decor was nice, the bed was really comfy, the room was really clean, plenty of hot water etc.
The hotel is on the Upper West side, only 2 blocks from the subway so out of the main tourist zone but easy to get there. And the price was brilliant in comparison to other hotels. We would definitely stay here again.

I just completed my second 10-day stay at this wonderful, historic hotel, which is in a fantastic location on the upper west side. I just can't say enough about it. It's just got character!! Very friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms, extremely comfortable beds with down comforter and pillow - and both stays were in an economy room with shared bath. We wanted to spend our money on seeing the sights, not on a huge hotel bill, and we were so pleased that we did not have to sacrifice on comfort to do so. Another big bonus, located on the street level, is Big Nicks with a terrific menu of at least 50 items listed and open 24 hours. Great food - we savored many items on the menu!! Back to the hotel - wonderful "home away from home," great location in the West Side Historical District; two blocks away from subway/bus lines; and terrific, and convenient, shopping and amenities. I'll be back at the Hotel Belleclaire next year!!! I wouldn't consider any other place. The only thing that I would have liked in my room, and this is really the only thing, is a microwave oven although there is a refrigerator. Hotel Belleclaire, please consider adding this convenience. See y'all on the next trip!!

We were here last Thanksgiving & returned in late August because we were so pleased with our first visit. The rooms are clean & comfortable, though noisy on the Broadway side (bring ear plugs). It's easy to get anywhere in the city from here, but you can walk to great shopping & restaurants, too. 2 blocks to subway. Close to Central Park. Price was higher this time, but I think we found a great internet deal last fall. We always get a private room - the cheaper rates require you to share a bathroom with 2 other rooms. Fine for a family group. Fridge in the room is a bonus, with a 24 hr. grocery around the corner. Only thing I dislike is the lack of light in the bathroom.
