After a long 9-hour flight from Rome, staying at The Beacon overnight was a refreshing experience. I know the neighborhood on the Upper West Side, so it was easy to do the necessary grocery shopping before retiring, then up early for coffee at...

The Beacon Hotel in New York is conveniently located on the Upper West Side and is walking distance to everything you desire. The rooms vary - some have a kitchenette and some of the bathrooms are spacious and others are quite small. Depending on the floor you are on and the direction you face, it can be noisy. You are in the middle of a 24 hour city, so this is to be expected. I felt very safe while I was staying here. The Beacon Theatre is located next door in case you want to see a performance.

Good
If you're going to a concert at the Beacon Theatre, Hotel Beacon is by far the best place to stay. Kitchenettes mean you can pick up food at Fairway mkt and eat at "home".

I was in New York City with a group to attend some classes at Columbia University. This hotel was very convenient to Columbia. The room, a two-bedroom suite, was perfect for what we were doing. It was easy to step outside and catch the bus or subway to get to Columbia. The staff was very helpful and took care of our needs. The room was a little shabby and could have used some furniture recovered and carpet. But the beds and bathrooms were great.
The location of the hotel was ideal. It’s close to transportation and shops to buy food as well as restaurants. Having a suite with a kitchen made our stay easier as we were off to Columbia University each day for classes and it was convenient to eat breakfast in the room and pack our lunch, all things that could happen easily in this room.
I am very likely
to return to the Hotel Beacon.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The location was good. Its close to the subway, restaurants, and a supermarket. They had good advice for tourists and are helpful. The elevators are painfully slow and I had to wait forever for them.
My room faced Broadway so that was exciting. I felt like I was in the middle of New York City, but not in the bustle of Times Square. There was a lot of activity in the lobby, people always coming and going.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Hotel Beacon.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
