49 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
On 23 October, 2006 I made the reservation through the internet, paid 50% of it and paid the rest of it a month before I have arrived at the hotel, total 3,360.33 US$.
On 28 January, 2007, we have arrived at hotel Aspen and to our surprise we discovered that the room and the amenities are not as promised in their site and ads. We went down to the front desk clerk and told them that we want to have a room with flat panel television, a DVD player and wireless high speed connection free of charge as promised on their site, and showed him a print of it. He said that he knows that what is on their site does not exist in life, but it is not his own responsibility, and he promised to connect us free of charge to the internet.
During all the 14 days we have not had one single day of continuous connection, without the need to restart the main modem of the hotel many times, and the clerk shouted at us that he knows the problem and we bother him calling to fix it many times a day.
We had almost 24 hours without hot water in the tubes, and nobody even thought he has to apologize or offer any compensation. They charged us of local calls even though it is said on their site it is free of charge, but nobody argues about few dollars.
We send them a letter, asking a refund but they think that it is OK to ad fraud. They say that they have apologies and that is sufficient. We never heard such an apology, or such an answer. I told somebody in Aspen about the behavior of the Aspen hotel stuff and he told me that everybody in Aspen knows they like to fight with tourists.
I will never return to hotel Aspen and I suggest every tourist check other hotels before making a reservation there.
