The Hotel Ara Pacis occupies an old late 18th-century palazzo in the heart of Rome. Characterized by the typical ashlar-work on its facade, it is embellished by harmonious arcades on the ground floor, refined double-lancet windows on the upper floors and a lovely cornice topping-off the attic in a balanced combination of open and closed spaces. The interiors are extremely well - maintained and comfortable, with decorated with variations of green that create a tranquil, elegant atmosphere. I truly felt from the first moment I walked to that front desk that I was simply inconveniencing the staff. I did not find one staff member at this hotel that would even attempt crack a smile, or be even half pleasant. They were down right rude...
