Hip and in the Loop. One of the best hotel options in the loop. Fun, positive energy, decent price ... it's a cool place. If staying more than 1-night (and it's not the dead of winter), prefer being closer to Lake Michigan.
I am very likely
to return to the Hotel Allegro.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
The Allegro Hotel was the perfect spot to stay in the heart of theatre district in Chicago - able to walk to the Oriental Theatre to see Wicked! Close to trains, but all the shops around the hotel were closed on Sunday and Monday for Labor Day...

I loved the hotel! The decor and amenities were extraordinary. We were welcomed into the room with a stereo softly playing a smooth jazz station. The room was furnished with high-end televisions and stereo, and the beds and linens were comfortable and luxurious. The design was what I would describe as funky contemporary, very chic yet comfortable, and offered a great view from the windows overlooking Randolph Street. We were given Starbucks gift cards upon check in. The hotel was in a great location in the heart of the theater district, and we were able to walk just a few blocks to see a play and eat dinner. The hotel had a free manager's wine reception in the lobby. There was also a free continental breakfast offered, but we missed it due to incorrect times given to us by a staff member. We were also not given our breakfast vouchers at check in. However, this was a minor issue compared to the big picture. We look forward to staying there again, and we can even bring our dog with us if we so choose because the hotel is pet-friendly. In fact, if you are missing your pet they will supply you with a pet goldfish during your stay upon request. And even though they allow pets, there was no indication of any pet odors or damage. I was very impressed!
The Allegro staff gave each of us a Starbucks gift card upon check in. We were invited to a late afternoon manager's wine reception. Our room was welcoming and inviting, and was stocked with fluffy robes for our use. There was a concierge available in the lobby for guests' use, but we didn't need his services as we had already made reservations for theater and restaurants before our arrival.
I am very likely
to return to the Hotel Allegro.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I love the location, professionalism, and the overall service by the staff. They seem to go out of their way to make you comfortable. I thought the drink prices at the bar were high.
I came from the EL and it was raining, I was wet and the desk person was very kind and I had my shaving items taken from me by the airport security and the hotel gave me the items at no charge. That made my wet walk from the EL so much more tolerable.
I am very likely

Good
My son and I stayed at Hotel Allegro during a trip to Chicago to visit the museums. The hotel is lovely, and while the rooms may be small, compared to a chain hotel, they have alot of charm. The beds were extremely comfortable with down comforters...

Horrible
Let me start by saying that I'm usually very easy to please when it comes to hotels. As long as it's clean, safe, and there aren't any unforeseen problems, I always leave happy. Having said that, words can't do justice to my dissatisfaction with...

Mediocre
It really didn't live up to what Kimptons should be. It wasn't very clean. It didn't have the boutique feeling I got from the DC Kimpton. The staff wasn't very helpful either. Only 3 people were working there the whole time I was there. It took an...
It is in the loop, and near the river of Chicago and many theaters and businesses. They manage to have a decorum that can be viewed as very sexy as well as very business appropriate. Donât ask me how they do it, but they do. They have free...
