The Monticello Inn is a San Francisco boutique hotel, a few blocks from the theater district, Moscone Convention Center, downtown San Francisco, and the cable car line to Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although not very big and some rooms near the road can be noisy - so if you want a quiet room (but without as good a view) then ask for room overlooking the courtyard. The wine tasting in the evening is a lovely touch, especially when they have the fire lit, and there's also quiet, relaxing library. The breakfast buffet is around $6 and is fine, but there so many cafes nearby with a larger choice of food at a better price. There's a nice Italian American located next to the hotel which is open for lunch and dinner, but again - there are so many places within walking distance, you're spoilt for choice! The hotel is also one block from three BART stations as well as several San Francisco downtown MUNI metro stations. The staff here are really excellent and will go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. A great hotel.
