Horton's Lodge Motel - Page 1

On our first trip to Blowing Rock, we had not made any reservations. The town was crowded and the hotel choices were limited. Upon arrival, I was skeptical at first. The lodge was older and not as modern as what I was use to. We did stay, and what a delight it was! The room was comfortable, the unit air conditioner worked perfectly, and the bathroom had very hot water for a relaxing shower. These are the things I want most while on a vacation. There were also porch rockers, and the porch offered some seclusion from the main street although we were only one block from downtown. The keeper, Judy, was such a sweet hostess, we felt like friends before we left. We have stayed there by choice on another visit, and will stay there again on any future trips!
