Although there is an advertised government rate on the Web site, I was told that military personnel on active deployment could not qualify for this rate.
Really nice stay for a family of three

Excellent
Homewood Suites is a great place to stay if you don't mind being a little further away from all of the major attractions. Actually, this is why we picked it. It's about a 20 minute drive to Sea World and Zoo. The suite we had was perfect for ...

Good
We just loved this place, it is a super family hotel. San Diego is lovely but expensive and this hotel was reasonably priced for what it offered. The staff was very helpful from check in through-out our stay. The suite was nice sized, with a full ...
47 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I had an awful stay in this hotel in October. I was unfortunate to get caught up in the San Diego fires and had to be evacuated for one night. The manager of the hotel refused to take my party to safety but ordered a taxi for which I had to pay! I spent one night in the freezing cold football stadium. Despite not staying in the hotel my account was charged. I am still fighting to get my money back (lawyers just about to get involved). When I returned the following afternoon the manager and all of his staff refused to speak to me, didn't ask how I was, and in fact were downright rude. They even refused to service my room after the night of the evacuation. I noticed that some of his friends came into the hotel, were given a large jug of ale (free) and sat back and watched the football. I have traveled to the USA many times clocking up 37 States (plus DC) staying with Hilton for the most part but this is the single worst hotel that I have ever come across. The food was just about edible but the staff are the rudest that I have ever met. I love the US, it's people but I shall never return to this hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone.

54 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
A wonderful 2 weeks stay. Hotel is located on the outskirts with lovely views of the countryside, only a short drive away from the many attractions, beaches etc. The staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms comfortable and spotless and the complimentary breakfast was a great start to the day.Singles people and families on holiday or people on business staying just for the night would struggle to find fault.
I am very likely
to return to the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego-Del Mar.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
