The Homewood Suites Chicago is now part of the Hilton chain. It is a relatively small all-suites property, which adds to its coziness factor. Take the elevator from the ground floor to the lobby level which is on the sixth floor. You will need your room key card to activate the elevator to the floors above the lobby. My accommodations were excellent, with a living area, kitchen, and separate bedroom with a king bed. The living area has a sofabed, although if pulled out would make for some tight spaces. The kitchen seemed more spacious than the living area and is loaded with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and other amenities. Back on the lobby level, I enjoyed a free breakfast buffet in the morning that was hearty and filling. Coffee is served in the lobby seemingly throughout the day. The top floor supports an indoor pool and exercise room, and don’t forget to bring your room key card. The Homewood duck logo is prevalent throughout the property, and its decorative schemes and colors attempt to manufacture a feeling of a comfortable countryside lodge in the midst of downtown Chicago. It has a fine location in a busy but not too busy area, so you are close to plenty of shops and restaurants.
