I tried to contact someone for days with regard to the 12/24/07 - 12/31/07 stay I had at the Homestead Suites -Blue Lagoon. It was the worst visit I've ever had and I won't be returning nor will I refer anyone to this hotel where I did in the past.
To put this in a nutshell (if I can).
-I checked in late to find that the hotel is being rennovated whereas their website said nothing about that when I made the reservation
-My first Room had someone else's hair on the bathroom floor
-The bottom part of the refrigerator didn't work
-The frying pan had dead ants in it
-The TV didn't have a remote so I walked back to the office to get one only to find that the TV didn't work
-I had to stay in that room that nite because the front desk person was actually a security guard that was obviously overwhelmed with calls and lobby guests that he had no clue how to help
-Next morning I go to the office and express the details of that Room to be given what they call the "Presidential Suite"
-To greet me there's a huge spider in the upper corner above the mirror and dresser with an even bigger spider web with his little spider snacks in it
-The bathroom light flickered annoyingly
-I pull back the covers to stretch out to watch TV only to find hair (again) under the pillow
-I needed access to the internet only to find they charge extra for it
-The iron ruined my suit by spitting black gunk all over it. I called for another iron and the office said they would bring me a new one. 30 minutes later I walked over to pick it up since no one had showed only to be told that they didn't have any and would pull one from another room. That never happened either. I spent hours trying to fix/clean the suit and never made my business meeting that I spent months setting up. I went back the next morning and was given a new iron in a box but it was too late -my business associates had to fly out so I missed out on a million dollar deal.
-My last morning to check-out I got up around 4am to use the bathroom and turned on the light only to be greeted by a mouse in the kitchen! I packed my things and was outta there right then.
So after a week of those enlightening moments, I later found out that they had speedily charged my card on 12/26/07 right after I had just been moved to another room due to a complaint! No one ever asked me if the so-called Presidential Suite was any better than the other nasty, broken-down room. They just went and took their money before I had even been there the entire week.
I usually stay at this hotel every year for vacation in Miami but I'll never return. I travel 12 months of the year and this has been the worst experience to date.
