44 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I reserved and paid for a "queen" bed, but was given a room with a "full" size bed. I called the clerk and was told the room was listed as a "queen". You can call it a "double king" if you want, but a "full" is not a "queen". I asked for the manager to call me. He never did.
I reserved a non-smoking room. The furniture smelled of old smoke. There were a few burn marks. Maybe it was a former smoking room.
Table in kitchen was at abnormally short height.
Shower curtain was filthy.
The hallway off of the elevator smelled of rotten food as if there were a restaurant dumpster in the hall.
I had a friend come over to verify all of this. They concurred with everything I've stated.
Now, I find they billed me for an extra night. I've called twice and not been able to speak with a manager. He has not returned my calls. The first time, the clerk said I had checked out and someone then checked me back in. During the second call, I was told the only way I could be double-billed was for reserving the room with a credit card and then not showing up. That doesn't even make sense for a double billing!
