We stayed at the Waterville Holiday Inn because we had a dog, and it was the only place that would accommodate pets.
I reserved a non-smoking room, and upon getting into the room, there was a heavy stench of cigarettes and a burn mark on the bedspread. It was clearly not a non-smoking room. The next morning I left the placard on the bathroom door as instructed for clean linens, but got only towels. I changed the pillow cases, and had to chase a maid down to get clean ones. I was told they do not change beds nightly, only every 2 nights if you are on an extended stay.
The next day (we were there three nights), I find only clean towels once again, and had to chase down a maid to get clean pillow cases. The placard states that if you want clean linens, please leave it on the bathroom door, and sheets will be changed.
Room service: I ordered two pots of coffee to be delivered, room service menu states $4.59 per pot plus delivery charge, taxes, etc. I went to the door with $20.00, only to find out I owed her almost $5.00 more! I couldn't figure out how $10.00 turned into so much more.
I checked with the front desk, and was informed the menu prices had been changed in the computers, but they did not have the new prices in printed menus in the room. I did get $11.00 back.
Check out: I went to the front desk the night before to check out, and found out we were overcharged on the room rate as we checked in. Paper work was reconfigured, and a print out was put under our door with an $8.00 credit due us and a note "balance due" I called the front desk to get a clarification/no answer.
I went to the front desk (which is not close to our room, especially given the chilly temperatures.) and got another refund. I found attitudes to be less than cordial, and found myself apologizing for bothering them each time I needed something corrected.
