Hotel very outdated. Staff are very nasty and uneasy. Manager was very nice and cooperated nicely. The pools and spot and area of beach was great but rooms wasnt cleaned up. We stayed from 8/11-8/15 we arrived 8/11 and left the next day to the hilton which was a few blocks up which cost a fourtune but was way better. I have to say stay at this hotel just to sleep and take a shower other than that dont.

I recently vacationed at Va Beach and stayed here at the Sunspree. TERRIBLE! Our room was nasty. Dust on everything, sliding glass door looked like it had never been cleaned nor the mirror in the room. There was coffee still in the coffee pot from the previous people. The tub was digusting, we went and bought bleach. I have never stayed at a hotel that didn't vaccuum everyday so I was suprised when they didn't. We called the front desk and they told us it wasn't required unless needed. So I made it a point to be in the room when the maid came in so I could ask her to vaccuum. Never left us coffee for the coffee pot. Also we called the front desk twice for sheets and towels and they told us they would be right there, well they never showed up. Had to ask for toilet paper because they wouldn't leave an extra roll and they never left us a new tissue box after we ran out the second day. Also the pools not so good. The water was cloudy and chemicals too strong. They also need lifegaurdes. Parking is only one space per room which was a pain because we had a suite with my family (4) 2 adults 2 kids then my parents which took their vehicle and had to park in a public parking garage a mile down the road. While we were there we were told someone has just bought this hotel and will do renovations. Hopefully this is true because the location and view is great. If you don't like the noise of the jets though not a good place to stay. My family like the jets so that didn't bother us. We have stayed at the Cavalier beside them twice before and it is a GREAT place. Highly recommended.

This was horrible!!!! I have never had this kind of experience ever. It was so dirty. There was food on the floor when we walked in the room. The sliding glass door looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The people that worked at the front desk were nasty to us when we checked in. We spent our entire first day of vacation searching for a new hotel that had some class and at least cleaned the rooms and that had rooms available. So not worth the price. Do not be fooled by the pictures on the website like we were!

This is by far the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. The room(very small) was dirty and sheets had not been changed from the last guests stay. Always out of towels...had 4 people in the room only 2 towel most of the stay. When checking out I forgot my son's BRIGHT green lizard pillow case(sitting on the end of the bed) with his only blanket inside the pillow case, that he has had since a baby, called within 30 minutes from the hotel and asked if someone could get it from the room and ship it home to us on my credit card. Had to call back 3 times till I finally got someone that said they found it and would ship it to our house. It's been 1 month yesterday and about 20 phone calls to the hotel and now they say they don't know where it is or if they ever found it, but if they find it they will ship it to me...right! I emailed Holiday Inn corporate customer service saying I'm not looking for any kind of money, just wanted to see if they could see where my sons stuff might have gone. It's been over a week and haven't even gotten a reply saying we recieved your email and are looking into it. I will never give Holiday Inn another dime of my money.

I stayed at this hotel in June, 2008. I could not get clean towels and wash clothes. The room was not swept during my three day stay. The sliding doors were filthy. I had to ask for coffee to make in the coffee maker. The service was very poor. I will not stay there again.
