Never return

39 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
I checked into my room with high hopes.I work hard all year long and save for my summer vacation. I felt really uncomfortable at night. My comforter stunk and it was sticky.Called down to front desk and it took them an hour to bring a fresh one.Baby roaches in the restroom.Bathtub had mildew and was slimy. Shower curtain had stains and mildew.Hair on toilet with urine stains. When I got out of the shower I was greeted with sand on my feet from the carpet that was not vacuumed. I am not one to complain but I had to say something. I will never return to this place again. For the price I paid its just not worth it. As far as the housekeeping staff goes Thank you ladies for trying to make my stay as pleasant as possible. As far as the front desk is concerned totally unprofessional.

stay away from this rundown end-of-the-line rats nest at all cost. obvious that this so-called getaway is run by third world immigrants who copped an sba loan from the government and their only concern is making as much green off of hard working Americans to send back to the motherland. so a-typical of whats happening to the hotel industry across the nation. the beach is very nice with a beautiful view of the gulf of Mexico. you can imagine this was once a pristine barrier island. been better off in a tent on the sand than pay good money for poor accommodation. hats off to the housekeepers for making our stay bearable (thanks girls) as far as front desk and management forget about it

I needed a mommy break and so my sister and I escaped to Sun Spree Resort in April. We had a wonderful time. The room was great; the beds were comfy; service was excellent and poolside was relaxing. I'm making reservations now to return in September with my husband and two children and I'm so excited. We are going to have a wonderful time.
Thanks for a great time... Bev

#1 - room keys did not open room, desk reprogrammed, said go back upstairs & try again. Still no luck, desk said try one more time, if it still didn't work, they would send maintenance. Still didn't work. Maid opened door, maintenance showed up and cleaned reader. # 2 - once inside, in-room safe would not open. Maintenance took almost 20 minutes to open. I asked desk to provide other room - not possible they said - all rooms assigned (it was 3:00 pm - people were still checking in). #3 - A/C cycled on/off every 2 minutes or so - desk said that was normal. Day 2 - Had to ask to have room cleaned. I happened to go back to room about 2:00 for sunglasses and the room was open - maid had placed lock hasp to keep door open while she went for somthing. I was there at least 3-4 minutes before she showed up. #4 toilet stopped up. #5 A/C went out about 2 in the morning. Maintenance or alternate room not available.
The hotel is very run-down. Our room A/C had exposed wiring on the floor. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Pillows too. The area with vending machine & ice maker was disgusting - looked like it had not been cleaned ever. We complained to manager at check-out and informed them we would not be coming back. Absolutely not worth going to.

I loved that the hotel was directly on the beach. The location is also very relaxing and uncrowded. Kids eat free.
The only downside I had was that the workout room needs to be larger with more machines! Hopefully they will consider an update.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and have. It is a great location close to the city yet far enough away for a private beach area. Not to mention all the amenities are everything you will ever need.
This hotel made me feel relaxed: The ocean always makes me feel at ease. It’s like a different world.

There were no problems to speak of. However, the sauna was of very poor quality.

They have a very nice lobby. It is family oriented with lots of activities for the kids on the beach and a nice indoor pool with playground.

Cleanliness was not up to par and the laundry facilities were poor. Food in the restaurant was not very good, but the bar staff was very good.

It's a very nice hotel; though I would hardly call it a resort. The amenities were no different than a 'regular' hotel other than the outdoor bar/patio area. The workout room had only 2-3 machines and the sauna was totally unsatisfactory. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and attentive.

This hotel is in a nice beach location. But the weekend band music was too loud (could be heard in the hotel room) and went on too far into the night. There was a lack of adequate parking. However, they had comfortable and clean rooms.
