The hotel has a good location and it is easy to get to.

The air conditioning unit was difficult to set and it ran loudly and often.

The best Columbia has to offer. This is by far the nicest of all traditional hotel offerings in Columbia - a great place to stay and far more elegant looking than you might expect from a Holiday Inn. Given that 99% of all visitors come to Columbia for something happening at MU, however, it's worth nothing that this hotel is not actually near the campus. It's across from the Columbia Mall (which is way better than it looks from the outside) and a good 10 - 12 minute drive across town to any part of the University of Missouri campus. Conferences are big business for Holiday Inn and this is one of their larger, full-service convention centers, so I'd recommend giving them a call before booking to ensure there's no conference happening during your stay. More than once I was forced to wait during check-in while they sorted through for a "leftover" room from conference attendees. While both times I did end up with a good room, I didn't appreciate the wait at the front desk or the fact that everyone else on the floor knew each other and would tend to socialize in the hall at all hours. My parents stayed here exclusively when they were in town for parents' weekends, football games, etc. and loved it - you can't beat the amenities and the service for the price.

I've stayed in this hotel multiple times and they've always exceeded my expectations.

The desk, restaurant and cleaning staff are always friendly and helpful and truly treat you like a guest.

I've attended conferences and conventions at this hotel, all have been well planned.

The rooms and suites are comfortable, and they just added huge plasma TVs to every room. I've gotten a great night's sleep every time I've stayed at this hotel.
