Everything in Rome exudes history, but there are at least ten places that must be visited. The Pantheon is the best conserved monument of ancient Rome, while the Colloseum, although in ruins, gives an idea of the magnificent spectacles that were once held there. From Campidoglio (where only a few ancient parts remain) you pass the buildings lining the square designed by Michelangelo, to reach the modern city. Take a tour of Castel Sant'Angelo, once a papal fortress, then spend some time at the large basilicas of Saint Giovanni in Laterano, Santa Maria Maggiore and of course Saint Peter.Saint Peter's in Vatican, the symbol of Christianity, is a gigantic urban and architectural complex that was based on drawings by Michelangelo and includes works by Bernini.Michelangelo's Pieta', Bernini's monument to Pope Clement XIII are among the works of art that you can see in the basilica.Of incredible grandeur are the Vatican Museums, that exhibit centuries of Western art according to themes, and the Sistine Chapel that has returned to its original splendor after painstaking renovation.Today the human figures in the Story of Genesis and the Last Judgement stand out with vibrant realism. The Holiday Inn Rome West, a modern hotel with 213 air conditioned rooms. We just arrived in Rome and the hotel manager (whom is an older female) was extremely rude and insulting! She is very insulting towards Americans and we were forced to check out a day early due her attitude. Also, they are very understaffed! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

We had just arrived in Rome and the hotel manager (Ms. Guicy Shiponi) was extremely rude! She is discriminatory towards Americans, insulting and offensive. We were forced to leave the hotel early due to her attitude. In addition, they are understaffed. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!
