Holiday Inn Portland by the Bay Hotel - Page 3

I liked the excellent service and my stay was fine. Portland is a great city.

The room was not clean - a corner was visibly dirty. The staff was not overly competent in helping me find a way to use my laptop with dial-up service. Room service and the hotel restaurant staff were helpful and polite.

The hotel is older, but has been updated nicely. It has a 'grand' feel in the lobby. The rooms are nicely furnished.

The hallways were noisy on both nights of my stay. The walls were paper thin and the guests in nearby rooms were loud.

Nicer than would have thought, but nothing to write home about.

The hotel restaurant was not well managed, nor well staffed. Two people going in for lunch when it was not crowded received a 'put out' response every day.

When we checked in, we asked at the front desk if they have a hot tub - they said yes. This was the deciding factor to stay at this hotel, as both my husband and enjoy a hot tub when we get away. However, when we found the pool - there was no hot tub.
