We were met at the front door by a very efficient employee who quickly took our bags to the reception. A superb start but from here on it went downhill! We had asked for a non-smoking room and found that we had been allocated a smoking room. The receptionist changed it to a non-smoking room but her, obviously senior, companion grabbed that room key and then proceeded to change the room. Her attitude was a disgrace. I should have noticed from the other two receptionists expressions that we were being moved to a pits of a room....and that is what it was.
If you get a room at the back of this hotel on the upper floors then you most likely will get no sleep. There are massive aircon units that make such a racket throughout the night that I defy anyone to sleep through the noise. The room was the most abysmal hotel room we have ever stayed at. Amazingly small with a minute bathroom where you could virtually have a shower, use the washbasin and toilet without really moving more than a foot or so. Added to this it was old and grotty...ughh.
The furniture in the room was only fit for the scrapheap...for instance the table leg stuck out at such an angle the joint was exposed and it was ready to fall down!
I am amazed that this hotel gets away with providing such an awful room and my sincere advice is to avoid this hotel like the plague.
