We went on President's weekend. We picked this hotel for the convenience, high ratings, and because it had an indoor pool.
Sure, the people were nice and polite, but that's where it ended. $170 for the first night, and the pool room heater was shot. 77 degrees in the pool, an 52 degrees out of the pool. The promised it would be fixed. The second night was $139, the pool was 75, the room 55, and my kids got sick.
The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke, thank God the rooms did not. I live in a small apartment that has a bath twice the size of the one in this hotel room. Brushing your teeth would get your toes crushed under the door when it opened. It's not a very well thought out bath plan.
The beds were rather comfortable, but the temperature in the room was awful. The thermostat read 77 degrees, yet it was cold in the room. No, I'm not 85 years old, I'm less than half of that. I had to cool the thermostat down with a frozen bottle of water every three hours to keep temp about right. It was not worth the effort. I was checked out of the hotel in error a day early. It took 20 minutes for them to figure it out to allow me to leave.
I was offered to speak to the manager for a free night, but I did not want to spend another 20 minutes waiting, instead I was offered a $15 lower rate for the last night and I gladly took it. I wonder if the person who did not check out is still getting charged.
It's a great town to visit, they have an aquarium, a dinosaur park, skating, great local food, but think about another place, this is not worth it.
