Check in was miserable. we stood there jet-lagged and hungry for a long long time while they couldn't find the reservation (and treated us with great suspicion, refusing to phone the business who had booked us). The two of us may have been put in a single room--the bed was big, but there were no two chairs the same height, no table. Of course it was ugly, drab, beige, with parking lot and freeway view, from the small window that wouldn't open. That neighborhood is interesting and the good thing about the hotel is we stayed out exploring since we felt so uncomfortable there, walking along the Mississippi River, going to the Guthrie Theater, trying the microbrewery next door. They charged an outrageous amount for local calls. It was corporate in lack of personality without any efficiency. The room was not cleaned very well. A motel 6 would have been nicer.

My family booked our stay at Holiday Inn Select in Minneapolis as a weekend getaway. We were looking for a relaxing weekend in the cities. The call for security to our floor at check-in should have been a clue that this was a mistake. The hotel was hosting several wedding and sports teams for the weekend and the staff was obviously overwhelmed. The simple trip from the room to the elevators was hampered by trash and glasses lining the halls, and the large crowds of intoxicated wedding goers obstructing the elevators (the elevators are located in the middle of their conference area.) The pool area was packed with rowdy children running and throwing objects (one of which hit my 2 year old) and were supervised by a small group of inebriated adults. The pool area has limited access for strollers (and presumably wheelchairs.) My wife had to leave the facilities and cross a street to get to the pool. Her key was then deactivated and she could not get in. She returned to the desk with the infant in the stroller and was brought to tears by the desk staff before they would reprogram the key.

As a result, our relaxing weekend getaway was one of the most disappointing hotel visits I have had, for business or otherwise. I would not recommend this facility as a family friendly hotel and suggest it be reserved for a last resort.

The location was good, with shuttle service available.

The hotel has a shuttle service that will take you anywhere within a reasonable distance. This was very convenient to do a little sightseeing as well as to get to and from my interview. It was located a little more outside the downtown area, however, than I was anticipating. I would not have felt comfortable from a safety standpoint walking to downtown by myself.

I travel extensively throughout the US and have yet to experience a hotel as poor as this one.

I arrived at 11:00 pm Sunday night to find that although I made reservations weeks in advance, and there were no clean rooms! The rooms were dated, moldy and musty. The hotel was not well kept and not recommended to anyone other than the university students nearby for booze parties. It was very poor!

It is a very nice hotel. It is in a good location.

I had a great stay. The people were awesome and polite. The room was very nice. The first room smelt funny and they changed us to a very nice upgrade room for no charge.

This hotel made me feel pampered: They took care of me and I did not have to ask twice. They made me feel special.

The friendliness of the staff and knowledge of the local area was exceptional and very helpful. As I expect in Holiday Inn hotels, the cleanliness was superb and the bed was comfortable.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The desk clerks were very friendly and helpful with questions I had about restaurant hours and restaurant location. Everyone seemed to be happy and acted like they enjoyed their job.

It is a very luxurious hotel for the price paid. It is also spacious and accommodating. It is a great place for seeing sports at the Minneapolis Metrodome.

This hotel made me feel inspired: I saw a show about internet business there for free. It was a fun, enlightening and interesting experience.

It was not worth the money. Holiday Inn is a joke of a hotel chain. For $159, I'd expect more than a room. You had to pay to park at the hotel. The hotel doesn't reimburse you.

It's in a convenient location close to the Metrodome and college, with easy access from the highway. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel restaurant was acceptable. The cleanliness of the shower was not up to my expectations, but the room was fine otherwise.

Shuttle service was very nice - it would pick up and drop off anywhere within city limits. This was fortunate because otherwise, the hotel was too far from attractions to be able to walk (at least at night, and if alone).
