35 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
During the past week, I was staying at the Holiday Inn Marseille, Avenue du Prado hotel in France. I travel a lot for business, and this was the most HORRIBLE hotel I have ever stayed in through all of Europe. There were many small things wrong with my room and the staff that I could have overlooked - such as the fact that the roof started leaking in my room and soaked the floor the first night I was there, and the fact that the maid service threw away several of my personal items (!!!)...
However, this hotel has BEDBUGS!!!! This is completely inexcusable and unforgivable! For 180 Euro per night, I do not expect such horribly uncomfortable accommodations!! I complained to the front desk while I was staying in this hotel. They said they would "look into it" but they were rude and made me feel like a whining American. Because of this experience, I plan to AVOID all international "Holiday Inns" in the future.
I have taken photos of my numerous bug bites and plan to send a formal complaint letter to the Holiday Inn guest relations about this trip. This truly was a terrible, terrible experience. I have over 100 bug bites on my body. I was also extremely upset to open my luggage at home following my travel and receive 3 new bug bites - my clothing and luggage are INFESTED!!!! I am horrified!!!
If I had known was a terrible experience this hotel stay would be, I never would have made this travel to France.
