This property is not a new facility, however is very well kept. The rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating. We were a little concerned about the noise from the indoor pool at first, however, as the rules indicate, the pool was empty ...

I have stayed at this Holiday Inn quite a few times over the years. For a period of time it was going down hill fast, they have since renovated the hotel with a major makeover. I love the new resaurant, better pool area and probably one of the...

First off, we made our reservations over six months ago. I specifically requested a ground floor non smoking room. When we arrived, we were told that no more ground floor rooms were available even though we had been guaranteed and confirmed. We were given a room on the second floor near the elevator which is at the opposite end of the hotel from the handicapped ramp and parking. When we entered the room, it was dirty. The toilet seat was up, there was an empty pop can on the bathroom sink and the beds had been slept in. We were given another room close by. This room was clean but in bad shape. The incandescent light above the sink did not come on. We had to have it replaced. The bath tub would not drain. The maintenance man said the problem was an old screw in the drain that had collected hair and blocked the drain. The maid should have reported this and had it repaired months ago. The toilet broke. The little rod that holds the chain to the flush handle broke. We had to have a man in to fix it. The light bulbs in the lamp between the beds were too big. The shade was tilted just a hair and the bulb touched the shade and melted a hole in it. If I had not been there and spotted it, there would have been a fire. The carpet in front of the bathroom door was wet. It was about a foot and a half wide area that we had to lay a towel on and step over. The door knob on the bathroom door did not work properly. It needs to be replaced. The room door knob was broken. It had electrical tape on the end of it. The ice machine on our floor was not working properly. We had to go to the third floor for ice. Something upstairs was leaking. The ceiling above the ice machine and outside our room door was wet, sometimes dripping and it had plaster falling from it. The carpet outside our room and around the ice machine was wet. The repair man who fixed our tub made a mess of it and the maid could not get the brown streaks and black scuffs off with the equipment she had. She did try though. We checked in on Thursday and we had to request that our sheets be changed on Saturday. At close to one hundred dollars a night the sheets should be changed daily with out us asking. The elevator shaft was not air conditioned and the elevator was very hot and humid. My room mate had a late dinner in our room, she put the plate with some left over out in the hallway with every one else's room service trays. It was not picked up. The next morning, the room service dropped off and picked up the trays for many other rooms in our hall way, and this plate was still left there. The maid came and left and the plate was still there. I called the desk, the receptionist said it was the restaurant job and she would call them. My room mate called twice during the day and was told the same thing. Finally I called at eight o'clock that evening and reported that the plate had been in that hallway with food on it for close to twenty hours. I find the quality and the service of this hotel to be severely lacking. Three years ago we were there for our dog show and we had many similar problems. We were told the place was being renovated. The rooms should be a whole lot cleaner and in perfect repair. The restaurant service was slow but the food was good and plentiful. The banquette foods left a lot to be desired.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Lawrence.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The hotel was being remodeled but the friendliness and efficiency of the staff made the stay comfortable. It has easy access to I-70, K10, the University of Kansas, shopping, and restaurants.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Lawrence.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We stopped at this new facility on our family road trip, so didn't stay long - but what a bargain! The rooms were lovely and the beds the most comfortable anywhere. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious. The bar and grill gave us a coupon -...

Now that their renovations are being completed, this has become a very good facility. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and well furnished. The bathrooms are large and comfortable with good towels. The all weather pool-spa-games area is great for families with or without children. The breakfasts are convenient and quite good. Priority Club members get one free breakfast per room per day. They also have excellent and free wireless Internet available throughout the hotel. Its highly recommended.

Mediocre
for the money the rooms were small and not many extras. They were in the process of recarpeting some areas so that will be better but overall I was not thrilled with the hotel. maybe for half the price.
