Im a perks member and love Holiday Inn Expresses (and usually Holiday Inns.) I have never given a negative review to a Holiday Inn. But this is by far the worst at which Ive stayed, and it was over $100 a night! Also, you have to park across the street. Guest service was okay. However, the room I was in felt like a damp and moldy dump and was a disgrace to the Holiday Inn hotel chain. The dresser was basically caved-in scrap wood. The poor TV was fastened to but hanging on the edge of it and pointed to the floor. The desk was almost as bad. Curtin rope and pulley had been torn from the wall. Water temperature was temperamental. Shampoo bottle appeared to just be a refill. The headboard of the bed was the wall, and the air conditioner would make a loud thump before kicking on and rattling for about 15 minutes basically ensuring lots of interrupted sleep. I called to complain about these things and asked to change rooms. I was given an apology and was told all the rooms were about the same. When I went to breakfast to use my coupon redeemable for one breakfast, I didnt notice the fine print that said Maximum value $7.95. Of course, there was almost nothing on the menu less than that; more fine print: gratuity not included. When I got back to the room that evening, I called to cancel my final night. I gave the man my reasons and asked for a discount. The man referred me to someone else. That person only gave me ½ off my second night. Overall, a very nasty experience. Bottom line: If you have a meeting there, you should be okay, but STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The place could really use a face lift. I have been going there for fifteen years and it has not been significantly overhauled or upgraded in all that time. The parking lot is crumbling and any parking space within fifty yards of the door is reserved for the handicapped.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Lansing-South (Conv Ctr).
I might recommend it to friends.

The location was good, with access to the main highway and only a few minutes from downtown. The room service was super fast and fairly accurate. The lounge area was run down. The bar was not particularly comfortable, certainly not a place I would want to spend an evening. I did not try the restaurant because it was closed for the two weeknights we were there. The pool and the exercise room were maintained but nothing special, just the bare minimum. The staff was very friendly.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Lansing-South (Conv Ctr).
I would not recommend it to friends.

The facilities are becoming very run down. The decor has not been changed in over eight years and it is very dingy. The experimental water saving toilets do not flush.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Lansing-South (Conv Ctr).
I might recommend it to friends.

They were very, very friendly. It was a home away from home kind of place. I would recommend this hotel strongly to travelers. I was comfortable and very pleased. I will be back when I come back to Michigan!
