This hotel is under rated, the staff is amazing, I just stayed there and I will be returning when in the area. I dont know where the last post got his pictures but it was from this hotel. The hotel is under constuction and i stayed in a new rentivated room and it was nicer than some fancy hotels that I have stayed at before. The restaurant was much better than I expected for a hotel restarant, fresh salmon, salads, and a buffet. This place is sweet, I highley recommend staying there. The staff is awsome, they actually care about you.

This is a filthy hotel with a run down Holidome. The Holidome is rented out to locals for childrens birthday parties, so imagine a pool filled with 50+ children left unattended other than the parents having the party. It makes for absolute chaos and unsafe conditions. The noise level inside the room made for unsuitable conditions for sleep both for children as well as adults.
The bathrooms in the public areas are filled with bugs, mold, and mildew. The staff was unconcerned about unsafe conditions for children, bugs and or customer satisfaction. Its a definite stay away, you will be disappointed!

Everyone was greeting us. I also felt welcome by having my stay not treated as an imposition to the staff. I liked their competence and high level of customer service.

They made my bed and made sure I had enough towels. When I needed extra things because of my children, they obliged. There was plenty of help available.

Even though I was only at the Holiday Inn West for one night, it felt like I was family. From the moment the front door attendant greeted me and held open the door, I knew I was in for a great stay. The front desk people were more courteous than average, and more importantly, much faster than the average front desk worker at getting me checked in.
The room was average size for a Holiday Inn room, but the bedding was definitely a step up from what I've been accustomed to. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked huge and very clean. All in all, I would say that this hotel has the nicest staff I've ever met, has a great location right off the highway, and has more amenities than I had time to take advantage of. Its definitely the best value for a hotel in Kalamazoo!
