48 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
In 2004, my wife and I had a cruise planned out of Tampa for our 25th anniversary.
Hurricane Ivan forced the cruise line to move everyone down to Miami, we decided to cancel and drive coast to coast and found Daytona Beach. They were recovering from Charley and Frances and this new Holiday Inn was one of few hotels that had power.
We checked in and found it very nice and clean. The location on the ocean is perfect and the pool is always perfect. The cafe is a surprise with such tasty food, especially breakfast. The people are super nice. We had the entire ocean to ourselves except for the annoying salespeople who walk the beach and prey on tourists to buy time shares at other hotels (not the Holiday Inn's fault).
If there are any point deductions, they are for us having to drive a good ways to find eating places, and shops and no weight machines in the small hidden work out room, also they seem to have two different pricing policies, we usually pay 119 per night but every time we call (we've been there three years in a row now) they want to charge us 139 per night?
Overall, if it were not for those two problems they would get a 10 rating. We will continue to go back every year for our anniversary, if they can keep their rates under the "rich and famous" price line.
I promise you an immaculate beach to walk on and amazing sunrises over wild waves to play in and private balconies to view it all who needs a crowded cruise line when you can practically own the Atlantic from the Holiday Inn on Daytona Beach. We loved it!

It is a beautiful location. It is right on the beach. The rooms were excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Our young son was carsick when we arrived. The girls there brought him 7up and crackers and called and checked on him. They always had time to say hello and ask how we were enjoying our stay.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites DAYTONA BEACH.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
