When we arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the lobby was. We were greeted by very friendly staff and our check in process went very quickly. The carpet and paint in the hallway to our room could have been freshened a bit...

Good
We were given a room on the Executive floor. Disappointed that there were not special amentities. But the room was huge and roomy! Several maintanence problems I reported that were never addressed during my stay. Front desk staff very friendly....
I liked the playground area for the kids. The indoor pool was being fixed and we weren't told when we booked room. Upon going into our room, there was a musty, stale smell. Noticed carpets in some areas that needed to be steam cleaned. Was...
The lobby was very unattractive and musty, and the staff seemed very callous. Our room seemed like it wasn't even cleaned. Change was still left on the night stand, the bathroom floor was wet and dirty and the beds were stiff and very...

I really hated most everything about this hotel.
The bathroom floor, tub, shower curtain, sink, counters, carpet, and door facings were very dirty. I saw a few roaches crawling on the bathroom sink when I went to the bathroom during the night. I could not make myself walk on those floors without my shoes. The non-smoking areas, including the non-smoking room, were smothered with smoke. I can't breathe in smoke, so I didn't sleep well.
The guest services and housekeeping services were grossly lacking. We had to request supplies. I was not comfortable using the bed linens, as they were stained. I don't think the thermostat was accurate, as we set it to 78 degrees and the room didn't heat up during the night. The suspended ceiling tiles were stained, dirty, and covered in mold. There also were some electrical problems in the bathroom, and the signal for internet access was too weak so we could not connect.
The hotel management was very loud -- loud at the desk, in the halls, and even at night. The young ladies at the front desk were preoccupied with their personal lives and neglected the hotel guests.
The hotel is in need of renovation and in need of competent personnel. Actually, I was happy to leave this hotel, and I really don't want to return.

Make sure air conditioners are in working order before they send you to your assigned room. I went for dinner and it was a buffet you had to move your old plate so you could put your clean plate on the table. A cleaner hot tub would be nice.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-East (Airport Area).
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I had requested a baby crib for our room a day in advance, as we were arriving late at the hotel. When we got to the hotel, the crib was not in the room, so we had to call down to get one.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-East (Airport Area).
I would not recommend it to friends.
