42 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Check inn was interesting; one of the girls at the desk was singing a song with the lyrics "Crazy B*tch". It was an omen for things to come. Our room was unkept, towels smelled like they had been left in the washer for a few days. 1st night was bearable; 2nd night my wife woke up soaked at 3:30am from a pipe burst leaking on her coming down from the ceiling. Called the front desk where the clerk said he would check on it then hung up. Called clerk back said that was fine but we still needed a room. He asked us if we wouldn't mind staying there until they fixed the leak and I reminded him again that our bed was soaked. He reminded me that they were completely booked but finally put us in another room consisting of twin beds. Although my son was comfy in his, my wife and I were pretty cramped in ours! The room also had a faulty a/c unit that barely put out any cold air and the toilet had rocked off its mounting bolts and was in desperate need of repair. The manager the next day reported that engineering had fixed the issue while we were out, but the a/c still didn't work properly and the toilet was still rocking like before. One of our beds had been made; the other had not. The made bed had a sheet OVER the blanket. There were no towels in the room. For our inconvenience we were given free breakfast coupons. I returned those to the front desk. I travel 50% of the time for business and can tolerate a lot of things, but this was pretty bad. I think I am turning in my Platinum Priority Club card and sticking with the Marriott.
