Bugs all over; BIG hole in wall; BAD!!

I am in shock after reading fairly good reviews regarding this hotel... Perhaps there has been a change in ownership? I felt very compelled to comment about this hotel.
1)There was a large hole in our room near our bed.
2) The shower head was nearly falling off of the wall ~ it did work however.
3) This may be a small grip, But... There was only conditioner, no shampoo.
4) Lastly, BUGS were all over the breakfast area as well as inside the breadbox where the food was located.
I had emailed the holidayinn website with my complaints after returning home. Days later, I recieved a reply saying that they apologize, will forward this information to the hotel owner directly and will mail me $40 worth of coupons toward future stays. Well, I paid over $80.00 for this horrible one nights stay and I really expected to get a refund.
Skip this hotel!!

The main problem was that the pool was cold. No one seemed to have definitive information on the problem, though there was some mention of a part that needed to come in. This was especially disappointing to us because the main reason we went to this hotel not far from home is so that the kids could swim. The hotel also seemed somewhat understaffed, there were sometimes long waits to get a problem resolved. It was a nice hotel, I liked the triple sheeting on the beds and no bedspread. The Kidsuite did not have video games as advertised.
This hotel made me feel respected: Though there was sometimes a long wait to speak to the hotel staff, they were very friendly from the time that I called to make the reservation. I appreciated the personal attention to my needs.

The front desk service was incredibly helpful and pleasant. The rooms were very clean with supremely comfortable beds. All in all, a great, efficient, and worthwhile stay for a night.
This hotel made me feel comfortable: The front desk staff and associates made sure my every need was taken into consideration. The beds were very enjoyable and provided incredibly restful sleep.

We were treated so nice by the gal at the desk. I was so happy with her. She gave us a room upgrade and it was very nice. I was impressed with the whole place. It's clean and bright. I would stay at a Holiday Inn Express again.
This hotel made me feel important: We were treated as if we deserved special treatment.
