I like the bedding. No more soiled, heavy bedspreads. The halls and elevator were smoky when we arrived. Very pleasant comfortable stay. Nice breakfast too.

Upon our late arrival the staff was exceptionally polite and efficient. Check in for our 10 rooms was smooth and professional. Knowing the needs of the guests in my group, I was able to get room keys and specific information without the usual lame questions and need-to-speak-with-each-guest that other hotels required. The hotel was very clean and well laid out for easy access to rooms. Beds were comfortable. Showers were clean and warm with heat lamps in the bathrooms. The lobby was spacious and comfortable for our travelers who wanted to do a little late night socializing. There was a large gated spa available. The dining area was adequate with excellent breakfast choices. (Including biscuits and gravy!) The morning staff was friendly and accommodating. Over all it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any group or travelers.

The hot breakfast bar was awesome! The morning desk clerk. Just great! It was clean and it smelled nice. Breakfast was awesome but the morning desk clerk could have been a little friendlier. Maybe she was just having a bad moment.

I walked in without a reservation and was able to immediately check in. The service was excellent and the room was spotless! In addition, it has a late check-out: 1:00pm!!
The morning breakfast included biscuits and gravy, eggs, yogurt, cereal, juices, milks, coffee, and cinnamon rolls!
If your site-seeing includes the Columbia River Gorge and Portland, this is a great location because it is in between them.
It's a bit far from downtown Portland. If you don't have your own transportation, you might want to stay somewhere else. However, you might find that renting a car and staying here is STILL less expensive than staying at a downtown Portland hotel that doesn't have the amentities of this one!

The best part about this Holiday Inn Express was the family size suite. I shopped around at quite a few hotels before I found this. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size. There is a Holiday Inn Express in the town where I live and I recommend it to visitors.
I could have my whole family stay with me in one room instead of needing to get two rooms.
I am very likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Express Portland-East (Troutdale).
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We stayed at several different hotels during our trip, and this was by far the nicest. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

I was impressed with the price and how the desk clerk dealt with an unruly child who was rude to me that was staying there. She promptly called their chaperone and spoke with them. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
