Holiday Inn Express New York Hotel

The hotel room was a bit small (which was expected in NYC), but comfortable nonetheless. Once you get past the size of the room, everything seemed perfect from the High definition televisions and soft beds to the continental breakfast. The hotel resides in the heart of Manhattan located only three short blocks from Times Square (and subways) and a half a block from Fifth Avenue (where all the upscale shops are plus its really easy to get a taxi there). HINT: Take the yellow cabs if you are going short distances and the Black cabs if you are going somewhat far as in another borrough. Back to the topic, the check in process was simple and quick. As a priority club member, the staff treated me like royalty and were always willing to help. The breakfast area was somewhat congested due to the large amount of people, but the food was good especially the 'cinny minis'. The only other potential problem could be with the price, but then again, all NYC hotels are expensive! I had a good experience there and hope that you will too!

Clean and well appointed rooms

I've stayed here twice and have been quite satisfied. The hotel is relatively new and very clean throughout. My king sized room was small (to be expected in NYC) but comfortable, a down comforter with crisp white sheets, a marble bathroom (mine had a tub-sized stall shower), a flat-screen TV, and an ergonomic desk chair. There are 22 floors in the hotel with only about 6 rooms per floor. I didn't have any problems with street or hallway noise, but my room was on a high floor.

I like the convenient location, just steps from 5th Avenue, in the heart of midtown, and the rates are reasonable for New York. They have free wireless internet and free continental breakfast the round out the perks.

It's a limited service hotel, no on-site restaurant and few other services, so it may not be for everyone.
