Holiday Inn Express Mount Vernon Hotel - Page 1

We have stayed here once before and found it to be just fine for the price - except for the noisy room AC. However, be cautious if staying in the month of June. An all-male golf group rents the 1st floor conference room each year for their "reunion", yet the hotel continues to book guests on this noisy floor and even next door for those nights. ("Next door" was our room even though we were not a "drop-in" but had a reservations.) The hotel rents the two weekend nights to this large group of men golfers as their "party" room. This wild party continued on into the early morning hours with their door left ajar (so they could loudly go in & out) yet the staff were unable to do anything. Since they book it every year for this male reunion and allow the men to drink, gamble, and show porn movies (this was confirmed by both the night & day staff). Unfortunately, all other rooms had been booked and since they had paid for this room there was nothing we could do except ask to be moved the next day. At that time they said they could not "comp" this room or move us to another regular room. Pity the next night's guests!

The staff did try to help us out after the 1st night, and did, in the end, comp 2 nights for us. Still, don't go in mid-June when these "play boys" come in to Apple Valley golfing and stay here. Or at least try to get a 2nd or 3rd floor room-- they had taken them all when we were there. Smart move! I'm sure they needed their sleep!

The rooms are very clean as is the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were excellent. I would say that this was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. I would definitely stay there again.

I felt this Holiday Inn provided everything that I needed during my stay and helped to make it a pleasant and comfortable stay.

It was modern and clean.

It's a very nice hotel. I would stay there again.
