Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley Sausalito Hotel

My husband and I stayed at this hotel 18 months ago, and it was clean and wonderful.

We booked a room during Spring Break for the family and were greatly disappointed. A peanut was on the carpet upon arrival, and remained there when we departed. The shower curtain was filthy, inside and out. I took a face cloth to clean areas in the bathtub where the children would be touching and the cloth turned brown. A great amount of bleach would help the tub.

We're not sure if there has been a management change during the past 18 months. The hotel location remains incredible, however, the quality has greatly diminished.

I especially appreciated the desk clerk after a twenty hour drive.

This hotel made me feel respected: The desk clerk knew my wife's name when we walked in the door and had been waiting for us even though my wife's aunt had made the reservations.

It was ok as expected.

They allow pets and do not spray often enough for fleas, so I was badly bitten. The manager does not respond to or care about complaints and is living in a state of denial. The hotel is dirty and poorly managed. The television satellite goes out regularly. Housekeeping carts, dirty mops, smelly mop water, and vacuum cleaners are left in the middle of the hallways overnight and are hard to navigate. The hall carpets are very old and worn and shabby along with the room furniture. The front desk staff is cold, jaded, and couldn't care less about making improvements, or pleasing guests. Mud was left on the interior stairwell for days. For over $100 a night you can do much better.

The free breakfast is really good and it saves a lot of money compared to having to go offsite. The free internet service is invaluable in the case of emergencies.

This hotel made me feel welcome: They greeted us at the door. They explained routes to tourist attractions.
