Horrible
I have always stayed at this hotel because this was the best place to stay of the three hotels in Torrington. However, my most recent stay has changed my mind completely about staying in Torrington. The staff that welcomed us in the past is gone...
35 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
When heading to this area for a vacation, I decided to go with a hotel with a good reputation. But after the awful service I was given, I will not come back to this hotel again. Luckily this is only Holiday Inn which I have been given less than "good" customer service. The facilities and rooms were nice.
The complaint I had was my reservation was made for 2 rooms instead of one, as I have always originally intended. I even received only one email confirmation, stating only 1 room reserved. After speaking to the General Manager (Tammy) I was given the worst, and I mean worst customer service, I've ever experienced. She stated regardless of how the extra reservation was made, I was to pay for the extra room. 4 X $68 is a lot of money. Never did she give any solution other than a cold shoulder and take a hike. Very very rude person, as well, as lacking any customer serivce skills. At one point I even asked her, "Why would I want to come back here, instead of the hotel down the road, on our next trip back". She said this exactly, "I agree, I wouldn't come back either".
And I wasn't the only one having problems. In the 4 days I walked by the front desk, there were several instances where different people seemed very upset and arguing for unknown reasons.
For the money they charge, go to one of the many other hotels in Torrington, where not only you'll save money, but customer service doesn't take a back seat.
