We stayed there over two nights. The rooms have been renovated with new carpeting, showers and have better than average amenities such as shampoo, lotions and potions. The front desk folks were extremely friendly and helpful. It's not fancy but it is more than functional. There is even a free breakfast that is more than adequate. For the price, an excellent deal.

Good
If you want to get a good night sleep, don't book this hotel. The audibility from the rooms next to you is great, so if you want peace and quet, book elsewhere. Also, the breakfast they offer is not great.

Our family really loved the Holiday Inn Express in Paso Robles. They have a lot of extras that we didn't expect such as the refrigerators and microwaves in the room. We all loved the free breakfast in the morning and the kids really enjoyed the indoor heated pool and spa. When we visit Hearst Castle next year, well definitely return to this hotel.

Mediocre
Amenities are nice enough. The rooms are nice enough, the whole hotel is pretty much what you expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Except it's unusable as a place to sleep. The bleedin train tracks are so near that the whole room shakes when the train ...

Good
The hotel room was very clean and had many nice amenities. Coffee and cookies in the lobby were nice but the noise level in the lobby got pretty loud from kids/guests etc.

The location was good. I liked the nice continental breakfast. But I could not adjust the air conditioning to a comfortable level (it was either too hot or too cold).
