Horrible
AC/smoky room/employees physically pushing guests/towels with holes. Staying here was the worst experience of my life! From checking in & going to 3 rooms, to get one that didn't smell like smoke or have a full view of a solid stucco wall, to...
35 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
April 18-20, 2008 I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express off 21st street. Im writing to notify you of the most horrific, disturbing experience I have ever experienced in my entire life! On the morning of Sunday, April 20, 2008 at aprox. 8:15A.M., I asked the breakfast attendant, (ADDA) excuse me, do you have any cream cheese? To which she barked, BEND OVER! Completely caught off guard, I feel an abrupt jerk to my head (she had grabbed my neck) & I was forced down to where my head was at the level of my hips & I hear her yell, THERE!! in a lower tray & in the back of it was cream cheese. At this point Im dazed & dumbfounded that all this is really happening. I try to stand up, but she is still holding me down! I physically have to push her off of me in order to stand erect. All I could hear was the employee laughing as if that were a joke.
I look out for my children at our table, when I see every hotel guest in there staring at me, all wide eyed & jaws dropped. When I focus on my children have the look of fear in them & obvious deep concern for their mother.
When checking out I ask for the manager, only the desk clerk was available. I tell her my story & she at least briefly apologized, but didnt even offer any ramifications to such an outrage. Holiday Inn Corporate said I shouldget a call with in 21 days!
Im at a loss of words for this experience; but thought youd be interested in the travel experience I, my children, & every hotel guest in the breakfast room experienced, during our visit to Ogden.
CONCLUSION: Hotel (GM Cherry) REFUSING TO COMP 2 night say, OR OFFER ANY REMIDY. Assulting employee is only on probation & sent back to a training class.
aside from the assult:
First thing I do when I finally get into the room is check the window view... which is a fantastic view of a pink stucco wall, two feet from the window! I have to check 3 other rooms before I get one with a basic view of the parking lot (rather than the roaring freeway!).
We paid for a room that sleeps six people (their biggest suite) & there were only two drawers!!!!
If you don't care about being attacked in front of a room full of travelers, or being insulted by staff by them calling you a liar for reporting disturbing events, or you like feeling caged in w/ stucco walls/ or don't care that the stairwell exit doors were constantly propped open, or need a place to unpack your luggage then by all means, this is the place for you.
PS Hopefully you wont have to use a computer, as the "business center" is one archived computer 20' from the check in desk.

Excellent
The bed was large, and had an abundance of pillows and blankets. My non-smoking room smelled a little bit like smoke. The hot tub was hot, the pool was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and soaps.

Okay
There is nothing really terrible about this place, but if you stay at alot of Holiday Inn expresses, you'll find that this is just an average one. Staff was nice, but the facility was older. Room looked older, the elevator creaked and made noise....
