My husband and I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Ft. Lauderdale before our cruise. The hotel is fairly new and the accommodations were adequate for our need. However, upon returning home from the cruise, I reviewed my credit card statement to see that I was double billed for our one night stay.
I contacted the hotel and was informed that this happened to several guests and that it was an error on their third-party processing center. I was told it would take 5-7 business days to be adjusted.
It has been over a month and no monies have been issued back to my credit card. When calling the hotel to follow up, I was informed it was not their problem. I contacted the Processing Center and was informed they could not give me any information as they do not deal with the "card holders" directly.
Needless to say, in the end I spent $400 for a hotel room which should have only cost $200. Beware! The hotel is not worth $400 a night for their accommodations.
