I would not recommend this hotel at all. On the first day of our 7-day trip, the concierge grabbed my friends breasts and said "You are very sexy. Are these natural?" We never got any towels in our hotel room, so we would have to call down and ask...
The hotel is very nice, rooms are cool and clean, and the service was good. The courtyard pool area is beautiful, especially if traveling with small children. And the free breakfast served on the veranda covered in mosquito nets was very relaxing....
We stayed at the Holiday Inn at a discount as part of a hotels package. The hotel is a bit further away from downtown though, so we had to take a short bus ride. No air conditioning when I was there.
The Holiday Inn Express is in the middle of residential Cancun. Not a very clean area, especially if you want to walk anywhere and feel realativly safe. The pool area has 4 walls, you have to move from side to side to stay in the sun all day....
